UIDAI allows cardholders with Aadhaar cardsto change their address without the need for documents. Aadhaar cardholders have the right to alter their address even if they don't have evidence of their identity.

New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India has temporarily suspended a crucial service which permits you to alter the address of your Aadhaar card's address with no proof of address.

UIDAI allows people with Aadhaar cards to change their address, without any proof of identity. Aadhaar card holders can alter their address, if they are willing to accept the authentication by the verifier of their address. An address verifier could be a relative, friend, landlord or family member that will allow the Aadhaar card holder to make use of their address as proof.

UIDAI has now halted this facility. UIDAI responds to an Aadhaar Card owner by tweeting that the capability to change the address on Aadhaar Card through an Address Validation Certificate has been removed. UIDAI has asked the Aadhaar Issuers to inform users that they are able to change their address with another genuine PoA document.

Dear Resident Please note that the addresses Validation Letter service has been discontinued until further notice. Kindly request your address update using another valid PoA document from the list https://t.co/BeqUA0pkqL
